Your homepage is the first thing visitors see on your WordPress site. WordPress lets you choose between showing your latest posts or a fixed static page.

1. Understand the two homepage options

WordPress provides:

• Latest Posts — shows recent blog articles automatically
• Static Page — shows a fixed custom page

Choose based on your site type.

2. When to use Latest Posts

Best for:

• Blogs
• News sites
• Content-focused websites

This updates automatically whenever you publish a new post.

3. When to use a Static Page

Best for:

4. How to set your homepage

Go to:
Dashboard → Settings → Reading

Under Your homepage displays:

• Select Your latest posts
  or
• Select A static page

If using static:

• Choose your Homepage
• Choose your Posts page (blog page)

Click Save Changes.

5. Create pages before assigning

For static setup, first create:

• Home page
• Blog page

Then assign them in Reading settings.

6. Test your homepage

Visit your site and confirm:
