A clear navigation menu helps visitors move around your WordPress site without confusion. Setting it up correctly improves usability and keeps your layout clean.
1. Create your main pages first
Before building the menu, create key pages like:
Menus work best when pages already exist.
2. Open the menu editor
Go to:
Dashboard → Appearance → Menus
Create a new menu and give it a name (e.g., Main Menu).
3. Add items to the menu
From the left panel, add:
Drag and drop items to arrange their order.
4. Create dropdown menus (optional)
Drag a menu item slightly under another item to make it a sub-menu.
Use this for grouped content like Services or Categories.
5. Assign the menu location
Select where the menu should appear (usually Primary or Header).
Save the menu after assigning.
6. Test your navigation
Visit your site and click through the menu to confirm:
