As of 2026, Nigerian test-takers pay approximately $220 for the standard TOEFL iBT exam. In Naira, that currently translates to roughly ₦340,000 though this figure changes regularly due to exchange rate fluctuations. Some local centres like MOD Education Exams in Lagos charge a fixed Naira rate of ₦245,000 for TOEFL iBT registration. Always confirm the current rate directly with your chosen centre or the ETS website before making any payment.
Hidden Costs to Watch Out For
The base fee is not the only thing you may end up paying. Late registration adds $40 roughly ₦62,000 if you miss the standard deadline, which closes seven days before your test date. Rescheduling your exam costs another $60 approximately ₦93,000. These extra charges add up fast, so register early and commit to your date.
Also note if you do not specify which universities should receive your score reports during registration, ETS will not send them anywhere. If you skip this step, you will need to pay extra to have scores sent later. Do not make this costly mistake.
