If you’ve ever looked at code and felt like it was written in an alien language, you’re not alone. I’ve been there. In fact, most of us at odurinde.com didn’t start out as tech geniuses or computer wizards. Some of us were artists, some teachers, some just curious minds with zero background in technology.
But we learned. And so can you,
a little backstory, I once Googled: ‘Can I learn web development without being good at math?’
A few years ago, I was sitting in a small room, tired of seeing other people get remote jobs, start tech careers, or build freelance businesses. Meanwhile, I had no laptop that could run VS Code properly, zero tech background, and barely understood what HTML even meant.
I didn’t think I had what it took.
But I also knew that something had to change. I kept hearing, “Tech is the future,” and while it sounded cliché at first, deep down, I knew there was truth in it.
Fast-forward to now, I’ve built websites, worked on real projects, and most importantly, I now teach others how to get started, even if they think they can’t.
This blog post is for you, the self-doubter, the overthinker, the one who has opened 100 tabs about learning to code but never started.
Let me show you that you can do this. And not just on your own, but with real guidance, community, and support through our upcoming Web Development Training at Odurinde.com, starting May 19, 2025.

Why So Many People Think They Can’t Learn Tech
Most of us grew up thinking coding was for “tech bros,” computer science students, or that guy in your class who fixed projectors. That’s not true anymore.
Web development today is more accessible than ever. But it still feels overwhelming because:
- There’s too much info online.
- You don’t know where to start.
- You’re afraid of failing.
- You think you’re too late.
If that’s you, you’re the exact kind of person this training was made for.
1. We Start From Scratch — No Prior Knowledge Required
In the first week, you’ll learn:
- What the internet is and how it works
- What a website really is (under the hood)
- The basics of HTML — your first step into coding
We explain everything with real-life examples. Think of HTML like building blocks, CSS as the paint and furniture, and JavaScript as the electricity that makes things interactive. It’s actually fun, like digital LEGO.
2. Hands-On Learning — You’ll Build From Day One
We’re not big fans of theory-only classes. Right from the start, you’ll be building. Your first mini-project might be a personal profile page. Then a product page. By the end of the training, you’ll have built an entire website, by yourself.
This builds confidence faster than anything else. The moment you see something you made show up on a real browser? That’s when the spark hits.
3. Mentorship and Community Support

You won’t be alone.
We’ve created a community where you can ask questions (even the ones you think are “silly”), share wins, and get feedback. We also run a WhatsApp group, support forum, and live check-ins. It’s more than a class, it’s a team, and we move together.
And if you ever get stuck, your mentor is just a message away. You’ll never be left behind.
4. Learn at Your Own Pace (But with Accountability)
We know life can be unpredictable. That’s why we give you room to learn at your pace, without pressure. But we also check in with you, help you plan your learning hours, and keep you motivated.
You can attend live sessions, or catch up with recordings. We also provide guides, cheat sheets, and real-world projects.
5. Real Examples, Not Boring Theory
Let’s face it, nobody gets excited about writing div tags unless they see where it’s going. We use relatable examples:
- Building a blog for your friend
- Creating a landing page for a small business
- Designing a digital CV for yourself
You won’t just “learn code”. You’ll learn to use web development to solve real problems, and even earn with it.
Still Wondering If You Can Do It? Let Me Be Honest With You.
You’ll have days when it’s hard.
Days when the code won’t work. When life gets busy. When you feel stuck.
But guess what? That’s normal. That’s part of the process. You won’t go through it alone. We’ll be there, myself, our team, your fellow learners, cheering you on.
Because this training isn’t just about learning web dev. It’s about believing in yourself, rebuilding confidence, and stepping into the digital future.
